A scenario discovery method using SAMBA

A new peer-reviewed paper led by KTH-dESA researcher Nandi Moksnes  was published in Environmental Research Communications (IOP) . The paper explores 324 scenarios using the SAMBA  model to identify determinants for high investment cost and low-carbon pathways. The results show that demand and capital cost as significant determinants for the system cost and low-carbon pathways. The authors show that appropriate concessionary finance together with energy efficiency measures are critical—at a continental level—to unlock economic, low-carbon investment. This work was developed together with the World Bank  were parts of the results also are published their new book "B eyond the Gap : How Countries Can Afford the Infrastructure They Need while Protecting the Planet " by Rozenberg & Fay (2019).
