The 2019 Summer School on Modelling Tools for Sustainable Development - OpTIMUS

On June, the 10th, the 2019 Summer School on Modelling Tools for Sustainable Development - OpTIMUS kicked -off at the International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP) in Trieste, Italy. This year it will feature four different in-depth training tracks, namely: the long-term energy modelling track featuring the OSeMOSYS tool , the geo-spatial electrification track featuring the Open Source Spatial Electrification (OnSSET) toolkit, the Climate Land Energy Water (CLEW) integrated assessment track and the data management track. The Summer School is organized and supported by several international institutions, including , OpTIMUS , the World Bank , ESMAP , UK AID , DFID , UNESCO , UNDESA , UNDP , UNECA and others. It will end with a Strategic Dialogue of ICTP Summer School on Modelling Tools for Sustainable Development 2019 on June 27th and 28th - and a working meeting under the Round Table Initiative for Strategic Energy Planning on the afternoon of the 28th.
