Published annually by Future Earth , in collaboration with The Earth League and the World Climate Research Programme , the 10 New Insights in Climate Science  report highlights the latest advancements in climate change research and their implications for policymakers.

The 2025/2026 edition covers topics from the unprecedented marine heatwaves and weakening land carbon sinks to the growing role of carbon dioxide removal, providing a clear overview of some emerging risks and solutions for a warming planet.

But how can climate science reports like this better support decision-makers? What do policymakers, businesses, and other stakeholders need from climate-related research today, and are we focusing on the right knowledge gaps? And how can these groups work together to make science more relevant, usable, and impactful?

This 90-minute event will present the latest edition of the 10 New Insights report, including reflections on previous editions and the process behind producing this annual synthesis. The presentation will be followed by a moderated panel discussion co-led by Åsa Persson, researcher and strategic adviser at the KTH Climate Action Centre, and Wendy Broadgate, Global Hub Director at Future Earth in Sweden, bringing together researchers and external stakeholders from policy, business, and civil society.

The discussion will explore the latest in climate science, how research at KTH and in academia more broadly can accelerate action, what knowledge gaps prevent policy and business from implementing science-based solutions, and how stakeholders can best engage with research to drive action.

Confirmed panelists:

Mattias Frumerie, Climate Ambassador and Head of Delegation to UNFCCC at Swedish Ministry of Climate and Enterprise

Karin Bradley, Professor, KTH

Zahra Kalantari, Professor, KTH

Kenneth Möllersten, Adjunct Professor, KTH

Registered participants will be provided a light lunch on arrival and are invited to stay afterward for informal networking. This event is ideal for researchers, policymakers, business leaders, and students who want to hear the latest climate insights, discuss practical solutions, and connect with experts shaping climate action today.
