Technical Tours

On September 20th, you will have the opportunity to visit some installations where state of the art measurements are carried out as part of different research projects. These are:

Aquifer Thermal Energy Storage (Sept 20th 12:45-14:45)

GSHP installation with two heat pumps (700 and 800 kW cooling capacity) and maximum allowed pumping rates of 50 liters per second. More info here ( click here for an insight (pdf 4.4 MB) ). The visit will be guided by PhD student Mohammad Abuasbeh . The bus departs outside Brinellvägen 68, 114 28 Stockholm at 12:45 and returns to KTH at about 14:45. Borehole Thermal Energy Storage (Sept 20th 14:45-16:45)

GSHP with about 1,5 and 2,5 MW heating and cooling capacity using 130 borehole heat exchangers to heat and cool several university buildings ( ). This visit will be guided by Post doctoral fellow Alberto Lazzarotto. Bus departs outside Brinellvägen 68, 114 28 Stockholm at 15:00 and returns to KTH at 16:45. KTH Live in lab (Sept 20th 14:45-16:45 - Free of charge - registration on site - Optional for those willing to see more of KTH Campus)

A testbed for accelerating innovation rates in the construction and real-estate sectors. The test bed includes borehole heat exchangers of different depths as well as a coaxial test borehole. This link  leads to more info about what you will see in this tour. This visit will be guided by PhD student Willem Mazzotti . The tour starts with a short walk departing from Brinellvägen 68, 114 28 Stockholm at 15:00.
