Hatef Madani new professor in Building Energy Systems

Hatef Madani has resently been appointed as professor at KTH in Building Energy Systems.
Congratulations Hatef Madani ! What's your field about?
"I do research on energy systems in buildings and cities, from heat pump and solar technologies to system integration, system control, and data driven approaches for building energy systems. For example, how to control each individual heating system in connection to electricity grid and other parts of energy systems."
What makes your field so interesting to you?
"The most interesting part is the close collaboration with industry and real-life systems, On a daily basis, I work with numerous companies and research institutes so we have the chance to identify real-world challenges and develop solutions that might work."
"Another aspect I truly enjoy is maintaining a system-level perspective without losing touch with the technologies and their details. I like studying energy systems at the city and district levels, while also exploring what happens within each individual technology and sub-system. It’s an iterative journey — moving between detailed technical analysis and the broader system perspective. I wouldn’t claim I am already there, but I continuously strive to improve."
