She has worked at KTH for decades, not only within her research field as a Professor in Energy Systems Planning but also with internationalisation. Now it is time for Semida Silveira to continue her career at Cornell University, New York.

Semida Silveira  has a long track record at KTH and internationally. Between 2007 and 2019, she led the Energy and Climate Studies group at the Department of Energy Technology focused on energy and sustainable development. She also used to be a sustainability expert at the Swedish Energy Agency, and the energy and climate program manager at the Stockholm Environment Institute.

For KTH she made a significant imprint in connecting KTH to other universities and students worldwide. In the early 1990s, Silveira launched the first Master's programme with a sustainability focus at KTH, EESI - Environmental Engineering and Sustainable Infrastructure. It was the first KTH programme in English aimed at global recruitment. And recently, Silveira received a medal from the Brazilian embassy in Sweden for her efforts to promote science and technology and connect KTH to Brazilian universities.

Now it is time for her to leave Sweden and start a new position at Cornell University, New York.

Best luck to Semida Silveira!
