3rd project meeting of the Deep Decarbonization Pathways in Latin America and Caribbean

The 3rd project meeting of the Deep Decarbonization Pathways in Latin America and Caribbean was held in Punta Leona, Costa Rica, between 26 and 28 of March. The country teams of Costa Rica, Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Ecuador and Argentina presented their progress and first findings of the analysis. Professor and KTH dESA PhD candidate participated in the event, having trained the Costa Rica team in the use of OSeMOSYS among other modelling tools for their analysis. The meeting programme included also other sessions on topics relevant to the project, such as an overview of the Deep Decarbonization Pathway Building tool , developed by IDDRI ; how to model land use and land use emissions; and the importance of boundary conditions for a low carbon world. The meeting was organised by the Inter-American Development Bank and IDDRI, with support from the EPER-Lab of the University of Costa Rica .
