7th International Forum on Energy for Sustainable Development

The 7th International Forum on Energy for Sustainable Development was held in Baku, Azerbaijan, on 18-21 October 2016. It was jointly organized by the Government of Azerbaijan, the United Nations Regional Commissions, IEA, IRENA, UNDP, UNIDO, the Copenhagen Centre on Energy Efficiency (C2E2), and REN21. One of the parallel workshops was dedicated to the sustainable development of the countries in the United Nations Special Programme for the Economies of Central Asia. During this session, the Syr Darya Nexus assessment was presented, focusing on the power sector analysis results, which is part of an ongoing collaboration between KTH-dESA and the UNECE, in an attempt to communicate the technical findings to the political representatives of the relevant countries.
