Camilla Lo Giudice Wins Best In-Person Poster Award at the IAMC Annual Meeting 2025
The Integrated Assessment Modeling Consortium (IAMC) organizes every year, since 2007, a conference on energy modelling, climate change, and resource assessment. This year, the conference was held from 11 to 13 November in Búzios, Brazil, and KTH was represented by the Division of Energy Systems by the PhD student Camilla Lo Giudice and the former master student Giang Ngoc Huong Vu, with Camilla winning the "Best In-Person Poster Award".
The IAMC conference is always a great opportunity to gain insights from other modellers and to discover new models and methods that can strengthen and inspire ongoing research.
Big congratulations go to our master’s student Giang Ngoc Huong, who presented her master’s thesis on "Assessing Renewable Energy Policies and Their Associated Socioeconomic Impacts in Vietnam’s Sustainable Energy Transition".
"IAMC 2025 in Buzios was an exciting experience for me. There I had the chance to present my thesis work that I have done with my supervisor, Dr. Maryna Henrysson, and two other PhD candidates, Camilla Lo Giudice and Shravan Kumar Pinayur Kannan, about evaluating Vietnam's sustainable energy strategies and their impacts on energy justice metrics with OSeMOSYS and MCDA. I received constructive feedback from other research fellows to further develop it into a paper and made new connections with other energy modellers who are also passionate about the topic. I felt extremely grateful for having received the travel grant from RECONNECT that made my journey to the meeting possible, and I would like to encourage other students who are interested in energy modelling to engage with this vibrant community to gain more insights and knowledge", said Giang Ngoc Huong reflecting on her experience.
Camilla Lo Giudice also presented the first year of her research as a PhD student at KTH, and her poster was awarded the best in-person poster.
"It was my first time attending the conference, and it was very exciting to meet and connect with the vibrant community of IAMC! I had the opportunity to present my research on resource stress assessment using our Climate, Land, Energy and Water systems (CLEWs) management framework. When they told me I was the winner I couldn’t believe it! I am very honoured and grateful to all my team at Energy Systems. Without their feedback and support, this would have never been possible!", Camilla tells us.
If you are an interested master's student and want to know more and become part of our team, contact us! Maybe you will fly with us to the next conference and get the chance to present your work to the incredible IAMC community.
