Bridging Science - Policy in East Asia

KTH Division of Energy Systems Analysis in collaboration with the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs ( UNDESA ) are conducting this week a training workshop on “Modelling Tools to Inform National Policies for Sustainable Development and the 2030 Agenda” held in Bangkok,Thailand.

KTH dESA researcher   presented the Universal Access to Electricity Geospatial Model ( ONSSET ), which uses geospatial data to identify the least cost electrification technology for all areas that lack access to electricity and the Energy Systems Dynamic model ( OSeMOSYS ) that can assist medium and long-term sustainable energy planning. The workshop involves 25 government officials and UN staff from East Asia, and all expressed the importance of this initiative and providing valuable insights in the training process.
