Climate-energy-economy modelling in the MENA region

KTH dESA participation to the first meeting of the network organized by GIZ

The division of Energy Systems Modelling at KTH (KTH-dESA) contributed to the inaugural meeting of the network of climate-energy-economy modelling in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region organized by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH (GIZ) . The meeting took place at the Hotel Lac Leman in Tunis (Tunisia), on the 26-27 November 2018. KTH-dESA research engineer Agnese Beltramo  presented the various training opportunities on energy systems and integrated assessment modelling offered by the division and based on the use of the OSeMOSYS tool, including the upcoming Energy Modelling Platform for Africa (EMP-A)  and the Summer School on Modelling Tools for Sustainable Development-OpTIMUS . Participants from different Universities and research institutes in Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, Egypt and Jordan were invited to discuss about possible collaborations on building capacity in the field of climate-energy-economic modelling.
