CLEWs study

A key step in the nexus assessment of the Drina River basin took place in Podgorica, Montenegro, on 21 and 22 of April. The first workshop gathered representatives from sectoral authorities, the private sector, and NGOs of the countries where the Drina River basin is located. As defined in the transboundary nexus methodology, the workshop aims at providing inputs to the assessment for the definition of its focus and relevance to policy issues in the countries. This is achieved through the identification and discussion of intersectoral and transboundary issues between the participants. Solutions and benefits for the identified nexus issues were also explored. The workshop was organised by the UNECE, the International Sava River Basin Commission and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Montenegro; and funded by the Italian Ministry for Environment, Land and Sea.
