Published Dec 13, 2016

December 6th-8th, Geneva, Switzerland

The global stock-taking workshop on assessments of the water-food-energy-ecosystems nexus and response measures in transboundary basins took place in the Palais des Nations in Geneva on 6 and 7 December 2016. The workshop was then followed by the fourth meeting of the Task Force on the Water-Food-Energy-Ecosystems Nexus on December 8th. KTH-dESA had an active role as Mark Howells, the Director of the Division, gave the keynote speech, presenting the CLEWs framework and some of its most pronounced applications. Moreover, researchers Eunice Ramos and Youssef Almulla presented at the Task Force meeting modelling work on the Syr Darya and Drina River basins, respectively. In addition to this, the KTH team had the opportunity to communicate their nexus methodology and share ideas with institutes that have conceptualised comparable integrated assessment approaches, and with country delegates involved in the nexus assessments.
