Biofuels for aviation and the role of 2nd generation biofuels in 2020 and 2030
INSIGHT_E recently published two reports on biofuels for aviation. One discusses ' Stimulating the uptake of liquid biofuels in aviation through existing renewable energy support schemes '. The study finds that while strong policy mechanisms are fundamentally important to the stimulation of a biojet fuel industry, they should be seen as complimentary measures and not as substitution for other measures. A second study relates to ' Biofuels for Aviation: Review and analysis of options for market development '. The studies were led by researchers Paul Deane from UCC (Ireland) and Steve Pye from UCL (UK).
