INSIGHT_E short publication on potential deployment of household DC networks released.

This study investigates the potential benefits and feasibility of household DC networks. Unlike AC systems, a well-established set of standards for household DC networks is currently lacking. Several recommendations and configurations have nevertheless been discussed in previous studies. This work reviews some of the most promising suggestions and further analyses those that are most suitable for implementation. In addition, a comparative study is carried out for different geographical locations in the EU between a hybrid AC-DC system and the proposed DC configuration.
