KTH-dESA priviliged to contribute to US-EU cooperation meeting focusing on the water-energy nexus

A collaboration arrangement between the Joint Research Centre (JRC) and the US-DOE

KTH-dESA director Mark Howells presented a keynote at a joint meeting between the US Department of Energy (DOE) and the European Commission (EC) on  "Understanding the water-energy nexus: integrated water and power system modelling".  The meeting follows the signing of a collaboration arrangement between the Joint Research Centre (JRC) and the US-DOE earlier this year. Discussions focused on integrating operational, planning, hydrological and power models in the context of increasing needs for ancillary services on the one hand to climate change on the other. Overlaid on this are implications for the political economy that surrounds two fundamentally different resources. More information on the event can be found  here .
