OSeMOSYS at the 37th IEW

The ongoing efforts of the OSeMOSYS community and the latest applications were presented at the 37th edition of the International Energy Workshop (IEW), which took place on 19th to 21st June 2018 in Gothenburg, Sweden. The Open Source energy Model Base for the European Union (OSeMBE)  was presented by KTH-dESA, Phd candidate  in the parallel session 4E on Wednesday afternoon .
Additionally, the side event on OSeMOSYS took place on the same day and was moderated by KTH dESA researcher Agnese Beltramo. During the side event, four presentations where held: The OSeMOSYS Community (Agnese Beltramo), The Electricity Model Base for Africa (TEMBA, Agnese Beltramo), the South America Model Base (SAMBA, ), and the Open Source energy Model Base for the European Union (OSeMBE, Hauke Henke). The side event brought together OSeMOSYS users from various institutions such as TU Berlin, Germany, and the University of Victoria, Canada. It concluded by highlighting the need for open source modelling tools and models and the related challenges in organizing open communities.
