The second meeting of the Deep Decarbonization Pathways Project in Latin America and the Caribbean (DDPP-LAC)  was held in Mexico City between 22 – 23th October. Six countries are part of the 2nd implementation of the project funded by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB)  and coordinated by IDDRI . In the event the country teams (Costa Rica, Mexico, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Argentina) presented and discussed their progress and first findings of the project. The DDP-LAC project aims at the development of long term low carbon emission strategies by national teams and collaboration of key stakeholders. In its capacity building component, international institutions partner with LAC countries for the development of their DDP investigation. KTH-dESA is working with the University of Costa Rica team, who are using OSeMOSYS in their analysis. Read more about the project at the IDDRI website . The DDP-LAC meeting was followed by a two-day workshop for the dissemination of the planning guide to climate change and knowledge-transfer on ecologically sound technologies in LAC countries, organized by the IDB, GEF and the National Institute of Ecology and Climate Change of Mexico (INECC).
