Second meeting of the Energy Modelling Platform for Europe (EMP-E)

Published Oct 12, 2018

Brussels, September 2018

On September 25th and 26th, the second meeting of the Energy Modelling Platform for Europe (EMP-E)  took place at the headquarters of the European Commission's Directorate General for Research and Innovation. The meeting was organised by the cluster of Horizon 2020 projects funded under the call LCE21-2015 and was divided into one day of plenary discussions and one day of parallel work sessions. More than 100 participants among energy researchers, modellers and policymakers attended the two days event. A poster featuring the modelling work in the REEEM Project and, as part of it, the recently published panEU open source engagement model OSeMBE  was presented. Discussions at the meeting focused on themes such as integrated modelling of energy and resource efficiency, modelling of technological innovation and modelling of behavioural aspects. A digest of research efforts, modelling tools and applications around these themes was produced - updating last year's one - and it will be condensed in a Special Issue of Energy Strategy Reviews (Elsevier).
