The director of KTH-dESA, Professor Mark Howells, is leading KTH team conducting a week long workshop on ‘Modeling tools – integrated approaches for sustainable development’ in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, organized by the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). OSeMOSYS will be the topic of module three which will focus on Sustainable energy and will use OSeMOSYS and its new web based Interface MoManI to take participants through different modeling exercises. The objective of the workshop is to emphasize the importance of an integrated and systems-approach when devising national policies to achieve the SDGs and making open, country-relevant, policy-making tools accessible to policy makers. The list of participants includes policy makers and UNDP representatives from developing economies.
