Upcoming workshop on modeling tools for sustainable development

The United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in collaboration with KTH-dESA will be organizing a week long workshop on modelling tools for sustainable development in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia between 22-26 August 2016. The objectives of the workshop is to emphasize the importance of an integrated and systems-approach when devising national policies to achieve the SDGs and making open, country-relevant, policy-making tools accessible to policy makers. The list of participants include policy makers and UNDP representatives from developing economies. This is a pilot workshop which will be expanded to detailed and targeted training for countries expressing interest in using open tools to aid better policy formulation. The workshop will involve a dedicated day for Integrated assessment using the CLEWs methodology by taking Mauritius as a case study.
