HPT Researchers Presenting at SETAC 2024 in Gothenburg

Publicerad 2024-10-17

Researchers from the HPT Division at KTH will be presenting their latest work at the SETAC 2024 conference in Gothenburg from October 21st to 23rd. If you're attending, don't miss the chance to meet the team, see their research, and discuss potential collaborations.

SETAC Europe 26th LCA Symposium

Here’s what our researchers will be presenting at the conference:

Tanima Sharma

Tanima will be showcasing a framework that integrates dynamic life cycle assessment (LCA) with energy systems modeling, focusing on thermal energy storage (TES) systems. Her methodology also addresses the challenge of limited primary data in LCA studies.

  • Poster: Coupling Environmental Assessment With Integrated Thermal Energy Storage Systems Modelling

Haoyang Dong

Haoyang's study introduces a life cycle assessment framework designed to support the development of building heating and cooling systems. This framework integrates ground source heat pumps (GSHP) with phase change material thermal energy storage (PCM-TES).

  • Poster: Life Cycle Assessment of Ground Source Heat Pump Systems Integrated with Latent Heat Thermal Energy Storage

Luka Smajila

Luka will present the development of a comprehensive LCA methodology that aims to optimize decision-making for the development and installation of BESS, along with policy implications.

  • Platform Presentation: Transparent and Informed Decision-Making Through a Holistic LCA Approach in Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)

Luka’s poster presentation will give an overview of the EU’s industrial and regulatory landscape for BESS recycling, focusing on policy challenges and recycling capabilities development in the EU.

  • Poster: Life Cycle Assessment of Ground Source Heat Pump Systems Integrated with Latent Heat Thermal Energy Storage (Co-Author)

  • Poster: Qualitative Assessment of LCA Use and Practice in Battery Systems (Co-Author)

Farzin Golzar

Accompanying as a supervisor and supporting the KTH HPT LCA team.

Date and Location:
October 21st to 23rd, 2024
Gothenburg, Sweden

In addition to presenting their research to the SETAC community, the team aims to network and collaborate with the Swedish Life-Cycle Center (SLCC).

If you're at the conference, feel free to reach out and meet us!
