Published Sep 11, 2025

Our division continues to strengthen collaborations and share research on industrial heat decarbonization at international events. At the recent NEST-LEAP 2025 conference in Genoa, Italy, Rafael Guedez presented ongoing work that highlights both our technological innovations and new research infrastructure at KTH.

Rafael's presentation gave an overview of demonstration projects that focus on novel hybrid high-temperature heat pumps and energy storage technologies — key solutions for decarbonizing industrial heat. These projects not only advance cutting-edge research but also build strong collaborations across Europe and beyond.

The projects he presented reflect the ongoing efforts in our division:

Together, these initiatives represent significant steps towards energy-efficient, low-carbon solutions for industries. They are also supported by major new laboratory infrastructure investments at KTH, which provide a unique platform for testing and demonstrating technologies at scale.

By sharing these efforts at NEST-LEAP 2025 , our division continues to play an active role in the international dialogue on sustainable energy systems, disseminating results and fostering partnerships that accelerate the transition towards decarbonized industry.
