Meet Our Researchers at Upcoming Energy Conferences

Three of our colleagues will soon be presenting their work at international conferences on smart energy and district heating. From storage solutions to electrification and Carnot batteries — they'll be sharing ideas that move us closer to a climate-friendly future.
Delaram Bayat will join the 19th International Symposium on District Heating and Cooling , organized by VITO and EnergyVille under IEA DHC. She will present her poster “A Comparative Techno-Economic Assessment of Seasonal Thermal Energy Storage for Decarbonized District Heating Networks.” Her study introduces a framework to compare different ways of integrating thermal storage into district heating systems to improve performance and cut emissions. Read more about her project here: USES4HEAT .
Silvia Trevisan and Delight Ezeh will both attend the Smart Energy Systems International Conference 2025 . Silvia will present “Heat Integrated Carnot Batteries for Decarbonized Industries – System Opportunities Mapping,” where she explores how Carnot batteries can help industries cut carbon emissions through large-scale heat integration. Delight will give a platform presentation on “Techno-Economic Assessment of Flexible Electrification Systems for Heat Decarbonisation in Hard-to-Abate Industries.” Within the eLITHE project, he explores electrification in the ceramics industry, highlighting opportunities for boosting operational flexibility and energy efficiency via the use of thermal energy storage (TES) technologies.
👉 If you're attending these conferences and are curious about their research, don't hesitate to reach out and start a conversation with them!
